The New QRZ Logbook and Operating Awards

QRZ  announce two major developments in its evolution.

After many months of program and systems development, QRZ will shortly make available an online Logbook that will be accessible by all of its Ham users. In addition, they are announcing today that QRZ will begin issuing operating awards and certificates for all classes of on-air activities with direct coupling to their online Logbook and Callsign Database.

Digital Debate Continues


Digital radio switchover gets poor reception

It would seem that senior broadcasters and leading industry figures have joined a backlash against the rush to digital radio following the Government’s decision to set 2015 as the target date for the switchover. A recent House of Lords Communications Committee report gave warning of a backlash and said there was “public confusion and industry uncertainty”

National Radio Astronomy Observatory

Twenty years ago this month, the NASA space shuttle Discovery launched from Florida carrying what would become one of the most iconic instruments in astronomy: the Hubble Space Telescope.

Whilst Hubble may be responsible for catching peoples attention over the past 20 years with some staggering images as seen on http://www.hubblesite.org We came across this story about one of  Hubble’s poorer cousins and felt it worthy of sharing.
