I’m sure many of you have heard and are familiar with LINUX. There are many distributions of it.
LINUX in the early days was hard to install and get going. Now you don’t have to have a lot of knowledge about computers to use LINUX. You just have to have patience and not get frustrated when you can’t do something the windows way.
If you are looking for an alternative to the windows desktop then try out UBUNTU.
You can even run it as a LIVE CD so that none of your windows operating system is compromised if you decide it’s not for you just yet. Or even dig out an older machine if you have one and try an install on that. You’ll be amazed when it goes on it and runs like a dream..
See : www.ubuntu.com and get yourself a copy
For other LINUX distributions a good place to check all of them out is www.distrowatch.com
If you are new to UBUNTU and would like help with burning the ISO to the CD and installing it then please post your comments and we will point you in the right direction.
