2820 first time D-Star User review

Ian – M6DER gives a short review of his D-Star experience on the 2820 in the South Yorkshire Repeater Group forum.

“I picked up the icom 2820 for the repeater group last week on a 30 day loan so that i could give D-Star a try and see what I thought.
The 2820 is most likely the best radio I have ever had the pleasure of using the displays are very nice with a large clear head unit making the menus and radio easy to use and navigate around.
The first time I turned the radio on it was very obvious to me this was a good radio”……..read more here.

Ian mentions the 30 day loan, if you do not have access to a D-star radio but would like to try the system we are proud to be able to offer (upon group approval and completion of loan agreement) a limted number  of D-Star radios for use within the community.  We will post more information on the loan scheme over the coming days.

Thanks for taking the time to report back on your experince Ian.
