YD Port B and new cabinet update

power

We have re-installed the 70cms (Port B) module at GB7YD . Unfortunately it worked at a short distance and when when headed off down the hill and could not get back in -  it soon became apparent that something was wrong.

So Jack and Jill went 7 miles back up the hill to find out it worked again. Maybe a loose RF connection Jack thought? This was checked out and no immediate fault was found. Port B was switched off by Jill and a fault logged to the SYRG RF team for investigation tomorrow.

Better news – The new cabinet now has power and we are slowly assembling it all back togeather making space for cans, shelves and the full icom stack plus the gateway computer. It’s going to take a little longer than we expected but well worth it. We hope to get things fully in place early in the new year.

Today we also had a virgin media engineer replace the cable modem feeding the YD gateway after experiencing regular outages in internet connectivity over the last few weeks.  It seems to be running fine now and we are keeping a close eye on it.

The D-STAR gateway should be back upto sync with the trust server tomorrow with the new IP address. Gateway service on port C should be fine when it resolves.

We will let you know the progress on the fault on port B soon and hopefully we  should be fully functional again on both ports and the gateway.

Thanks for your patience.
