Over the next few months we take a closer look at radio clubs and what they can offer you as an amateur radio enthusiast.

Being part of a radio club can be great fun and gives you the chance to meet and learn from other like minded people in the great hobby of amateur radio.

Meet Wythall Radio Club.

Wythall Radio Club is an active amateur radio club in the Midlands.

The club meets every Tuesday evening from 8pm onwards at the Wythall Community Association, Wythall Park, Silver Street, Wythall. They have a permanent shack which includes an amazing antenna system that isĀ  mounted on a 60ft Versatower!

Wythall Radio Club has over 50 members with a some overseas members too.

The club takes part in special events such as Steam Fairs, Mills on Air, JOTA and other local events.

The contest group enters over 40 contests per year using all contest bands from 1.8 MHz to 1296 MHz, including SSB, CW, and RTTY. On HF, RSGB, CQ, BARTG, IARU and ARRL contests have been entered amongst others.

Keep an ear out for club call signs G1WAC G4WAC G7WAC G0WRC and M5W.
