This week one of our members Ian M6DER has been testing out a new and improved way of programing your radio’s.
The RT SYSTEMS software is a new way of programing your radios Ian has been trying the software with our D-Star radios the icom2820 and the e92.
The whole process is made very simple; firstly you will notice the layout is uncluttered ad easy to follow, as you start to work with it you notice just how much time you are saving – compared to some other software.
The program can be opened in many different windows allowing you to copy and paste memories from one radio to another.
The D-Star calculator is most likely the best ever and icom themselves would do well to follow suit and include this in their own software.

You do have to use RT Systems leads and the correct one for the each radio when you clone the file over but these are usb leads and so better and faster then the 9 pin serials supplied by the radio manufacturers.
Following on from the icom E92 & 2200h files added a few weeks ago, we now have a Beginners e91 icf file too.

Someone else has taken the time to package a nice simple easy to use icf file for any D-Star users that may require it.
Our beginners ICF file includes all you need to access our analogue repeaters and the GB7YD D-STAR system, plus simplex on both 2m and 70 cms analogue. We have even included the D-STAR agreed simplex calling frequencies on 2 and 70.
This downloadable zip file also includes an all important PDF guide so you know what is programmed on the memory banks for easy operation. Ca-Ching!

The ABC Television series, “Last Man Standing” is about Mike Baxter (played by Tim Allen), a marketing executive for “Outdoor Man,” a fictitious sporting goods store in Colorado. Mike, is a “man’s man” and involved in all kinds of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating. Likewise, Mike (and Tim) has a love for all the electronics that go with these activities. Among Mike’s interests is Amateur Radio (Ham Radio).
Tim's character (Mike Baxter), is KA0XTT. This is a call sign the show cleared for use on air. "XTT" is a bit of a private joke as Tim's character name on "Home Improvement" was Tim Taylor. So, ex T. T.
In the show’s radio inventory is currently an ICOM IC-9100 HF radio, an IC-92AD dual band, hand-held, a Heil PR-781microphone, a Daiwa CN-801HP SWR/Power meter a Comet CAA-500 antenna analyzer and a Iambic CW Paddle.
The South Yorkshire Repeater Group monthly meeting will be held at the Three Horse Shoes in Brierley on Thursday the 8th of December 2011 at 8pm.
