Word Press is web software you can use to create great websites.

WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.

The SYRG have used wordpress now for a number of years with great ease. It not only allows communication and collaboration amongst our members but helps us publish up-to-date news and well ranked pages too.

Radio and repeater group web sites are generally stale. The reason is that it all comes down to one person updating it and this takes time and effort. It is far too much for one person. If you can, it really makes sense to involve others.

We have been donated a few ready-to-go wordpress packages to take you forward and start your adventure in the wonderfull world of internet publishing with ease.

If you look after a radio club or repeater website and would like to work smarter and have the ability to involve your members please let us know.

Ham radio and D-Star to get boost from TV sitcom

The ABC Television series, “Last Man Standing” is about Mike Baxter (played by Tim Allen), a marketing executive for “Outdoor Man,” a fictitious sporting goods store in Colorado. Mike, is a “man’s man” and involved in all kinds of outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, boating. Likewise, Mike (and Tim) has a love for all the electronics that go with these activities. Among Mike’s interests is Amateur Radio (Ham Radio). Tim's character (Mike Baxter), is KA0XTT. This is a call sign the show cleared for use on air. "XTT" is a bit of a private joke as Tim's character name on "Home Improvement" was Tim Taylor. So, ex T. T. In the show’s radio inventory is currently an ICOM IC-9100 HF radio, an IC-92AD dual band, hand-held, a Heil PR-781microphone, a Daiwa CN-801HP SWR/Power meter a Comet CAA-500 antenna analyzer and a Iambic CW Paddle.
